Well, this one is definitely "sweet and sour" and her name is a bit of a
mis-nomer for sure haha.... but you can't help but love our Candy.
Candy's mother is our Lucy, and grandfather is our Tyco, and she was born
and bred here at FortKnox Goldens.
There is little Candy does unless she does it with 100% of her attention and
enthusiasm a strong-willed girl, capable of great love.
Likely our smartest golden, there are many titles we could pursue with this
girl if we were only given the time and opportunity. Sadly we have lacked
both, and in some ways wasted our opportunities with her up till this point,
but have great hopes for the future.
In the fall of 2004 Candy suffered an accident while climbing over one of
our kennel fences, which resulted in her breaking her back leg... surgery
was done, and metal implants have saved Candy's leg, but we are still not
sure we will be able to compete with her in the show ring as we had dreamed.
The long and tedious recovery saved her leg though, and for that we are
extremely grateful as we can once again watch her run circles around all the
other dogs when out to play.
A fabulous structured girl of good substance and coat, Candy is likely the
most like her grandfather Tyco in powerful movement.
A dark coloured "reddish" girl of "burnished golden colour, Candy borders
the redder extreme of our goldens colouring.
Pending OFA hip/elbow clearances, Candy will likely be bred for the first
time in 2006 (sire to be determined).
