About Us
Shaylee is a small kennel located in southwestern Ontario, just minutes from the 401. We are on the outskirts of Ingersoll; midway between Kitchener and London. All dogs are members of the family and spend the majority of their time in the house with me. All of my breeding stock are routinely cleared for hereditary health problems. We have eye, hip and elbow and heart clearances. Our puppies are home raised in the house so that they are well adjusted, happy members of the family. I compete in conformation events. I am striving to produce sound, healthy dogs; which are true representatives of the golden retriever standard. Our puppies go to selected show and companion homes. All puppies are registered and sold on a non-breeding contract. Pups are fully guaranteed against life threatening defects. I board my puppies back when owners vacation. This gives me the opportunity to assess the temperament and other qualities of the pups while evaluating the progress of my breeding program as the pups mature. I also do limited bathing and grooming upon request.
It is my love of the breed that is responsible for all that Shaylee is.

Stryker
Stryker is from Dave and Kathleen's “Jade” X Melissa Johnson’s “Austin” litter last summer (July 2001) http://www.k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=62489
Strykers clean effortless floating movement has gained him considerable wins in the show ring including:
- “Stryker” - FortKnox’s LiteMyFire At Shaylee had a fabulous first weekend out at the Petawawa shows April 12th/13th/14th weekend with Colin Brownlee…. He consistently went WD, BOW, PB, and Puppy Group all three days, including a BEST PUPPY IN SHOW along the way to finishing his Cdn Ch!!!!!
- Finishing his Ch title in his first three consecutive shows also qualifies him for a Dog World Award!!!!! from the puppy classes!!! Winning a BEST PUPPY IN SHOW makes Stryker eligible for the INVITATIONAL Puppy of the Year show. What an exciting start to this young puppy’s career!!!
- One week later at the Guelph & District show Stryker again takes a group one puppy placement - bringing the total to four. Colin does a fabulous job showing this young boy! What a team they make!
- At the New Jersey specialty October 6th Stryker takes a 3rd in his regular class (15 dogs competing) and a 2nd in his sweeps class handled by Stryker’s grandma Melissa Johnston of Clarkcreek Kennels
- “Stryker” (Can Ch FortKnox’s LiteMyFire At Shaylee) (FortKnox's Hot Apple Crisp X Am Ch Clarkcreek’s Int Man of Mystery) wins at the Puppy of the Year competition at the Credit Valley shows in Dec 2002 taking the Best Puppy in Sr Sporting Group.
This handsome boy with the enchanting personality, and big plush teddy bear headpiece is the essence of what a true golden should be.
This special FortKnox Golden puppy is the love of my life - the boy I have been waiting patiently for - he is a once in a lifetime dog and a true heart dog - words can't begin to express the feeling that comes from being trusted with such a quality boy from my friends and mentors; David and Kathleen of FortKnox.
